Successful introduction of the integrated care network

The Réseau de l'Arc, Switzerland's first integrated healthcare organisation, has set new standards in healthcare with its innovative approach. The organisation includes the former Hôpital du Jura bernois with its sites in Moutier and Saint-Imier, several Medicentres and an extensive psychiatric network. By closely linking all actors in the healthcare system, it has been possible to ensure high-quality and cost-efficient healthcare.

The Swiss healthcare system continues to face major challenges: misplaced incentives drive unnecessary treatments and rising costs, while demographic change is altering the demand for healthcare services in both quantitative and qualitative terms. However, with the successful launch of the integrated care model, the Réseau de l'Arc has proven that these problems can be solved.

Rollout across Switzerland

The success to date proves that this care model not only increases efficiency, but also significantly improves patient satisfaction. The planned nationwide rollout marks a decisive step towards more sustainable and future-oriented healthcare. The goal is to offer everyone in Switzerland the opportunity to experience healthcare that is both affordable and of the highest quality.

The holistic expansion of the integrated network to the whole of Switzerland will make a decisive contribution to the further development of the healthcare system – for a healthier and happier society.

What is different about integrated care?

Focus on prevention

Integrated care puts prevention at the centre. Instead of treating illnesses retrospectively, it promotes a healthy lifestyle and strengthens physical, mental and social health.

People with chronic illnesses in particular benefit from individual, proactive care that stabilises their condition and recognises any deterioration at an early stage.

Personalised medicine for life

The integrated care model supports members throughout their lives. All healthcare providers work together in a network to offer personalised, coordinated care. This avoids redundant examinations, ensures that treatments are efficient and significantly reduces costs – for high-quality, patient-centred care.

The principle of success of integrated care is based on transforming the system from a system of illness to a genuine health system where prevention is at the forefront.
